About Ag Care Connect

It exists to support mental wellbeing in agriculture — in ways that fit the realities of our work, our seasons, and the pressure that often goes unseen.

Why Ag Care Connect exists

Farming, ranching, fishing, and land-based work come with unique stresses — long hours, isolation, financial pressure, weather uncertainty, family dynamics, and responsibility that doesn’t switch off.

Too often, mental health support shows up late, or in ways that don’t reflect how agricultural life actually works. By the time we reach a breaking point, we may already feel alone, misunderstood, or reluctant to ask for help.

Ag Care Connect was created to help close that gap — starting with practical, early-stage tools like TapRoot, with additional supports developed over time alongside producers.

What makes this different

Ag Care Connect is shaped around how producers actually connect and support one another — beginning with practical, early-stage tools like TapRoot.

  • Focus on early, everyday check-ins — not just crisis response
  • Peer-informed approaches grounded in shared experience
  • Tools designed to be practical, optional, and low-pressure
  • An understanding of seasonality, workload, and rural realities

This work meets us where we are — whether that’s quietly checking in with ourselves, talking with a peer, or learning how to better support one another.

By producers, for producers

Ag Care Connect is being developed by people who know agricultural life firsthand, alongside others who work closely with us and understand the landscape.

The goal is not to import solutions from outside agriculture, but to build something that feels familiar, grounded, and trustworthy — because it reflects lived experience.

Producers continue to be involved in shaping this work — including the development and piloting of TapRoot — helping ensure that what’s created is practical, relevant, and actually used.

What you’ll find here

  • TapRoot — a readiness and reflection tool designed to support early check-ins
  • Curated resources and support options relevant to agricultural life
  • Information about upcoming tools and supports as they are developed
  • Ways to stay informed without pressure to participate

This site is a place to explore, learn, and stay connected as the work continues to grow.

Be part of shaping what comes next

Ag Care Connect is not being built for producers without their input — it’s being built with them.

If you’re a producer and want to have a voice in how this work takes shape, there will be opportunities to share perspective, experience, and feedback as development continues.

This work is stronger when it reflects the diversity of people, commodities, regions, and realities across agriculture.
