Land Acknowledgement
Ag Care Connect operates across lands that have long been stewarded by Indigenous Peoples, across what is now known as Canada.
Agriculture in this place exists within Indigenous food systems, land-based knowledge, and relationships to land and water that predate colonial farming models. These systems continue today, despite ongoing impacts of dispossession, exclusion, and barriers to participation in agricultural policy, access, and recognition.

We seek to approach this work with humility — listening, learning, and being guided by Indigenous voices and ways of knowing, including storytelling and land-based knowledge. We are committed to creating space for Indigenous perspectives to help shape this work over time.
This commitment reflects the same values Ag Care Connect is rooted in: respect, reciprocity, care, and relationship — with one another and with the land that sustains us.
We continue to learn about the histories and present-day realities of Indigenous food systems and agriculture, and will share resources as this work develops.
